Blogs I Should Follow

I just updated Blogger to include a Blog List.  Are there some other blogs I should be following?

Thanks,

RC

  1. I'd make the blog list one line, or smaller font, or something. It's monstrously long.

Land of Nod looks interesting. I don't follow many blogs much now (no time), so have no other suggestions at the moment.

  2. I just started one today, if you're interested. It is old school D&D oriented.

  3. Very kind, thanks. I used to follow all your stuff on Enworld, I didn't post a tremendous amount so I changed usernames a few times when I lost login info. The only one I remember is Witty Comeback. How is the RCFG coming?

And are you going to continue your work on Balton, or did it die with the switch from Enworld?

  4. I thought I was on my final version of RCFG, but the Sorcerer spell table still needs a bit of tweaking. Overall, while the work goes slowly, it is what I am now running. And I can run 1e, 2e, 3e, and pathfinder modules off the shelf, doing most of the conversions on the fly.

Right now I am using Savage Tide as playtest material, and 4th-6th level characters are just going into Tides of Dread (9th level to 11th in 3e), and they did well in the previous instalment.

The "pulpy" feel to the rules works for a game that plays in many ways like AD&D 1e, but which encourages players to ask "What would Conan do?" Fighting bus-length centipedes, for instance, one of the PCs plunged his dagger between the exoskeletal plates and rode the creature up to its lair, in order to keep one of the (snatched) NPCs from being consumed.

The party, by the way, has no spellcasters. Fighter, rogue, and psionic adept levels only. No cleric.

Overall, I am very happy with the system.

As far as Balton, what I did on EN World is now here, in the M is for Megadungeon blog posts. I may very well revisit it in the future. I have a lot of irons in the fire!
