Especially your take on random results, it is so on the mark.

My first game back after years of not playing, I ran some friends through a homebrew adventure. During the game the wizard totally killed a magic missle spell check, destroying a giant lobstrocity/crab beast in one shot. Later in the adventure he rolled the same wild result against a "big bad". Well, as a GM I had envisioned an epic back and forth struggle - so I fudged the bad guys hp's to make the fight last. And I was dead wrong in doing it. I robbed the player of an epic moment. Even though the fight was fun, to this day the one shot on the lobster beast is still remembered and talked about. I learned my lesson from that one. I sure could of used this post then.

Let the dice fall as they may...wise words indeed. Sol and Serge the elvish fighter/ magic-user started daring each other to read them. Serge cut right though the playground politics and went straight for the deaded "Triple-dog Dare." Sol rolled a natural 20 and had his strength increased by one. Immediately on the heels of the natural 20, Serge rolled a natural 1!!! He failed his save versus death. His flesh immediately blackened and he died! I mean you just can't make this shit up."Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15493700749333105771noreply@blogger.com
